UTV info. wanted
« on: September 06, 2016, 12:15:42 AM »
I know some of you guys have side by sides and Razr's  and such.

I'm  looking at buying a pretty large piece of property that's a little hilly. I'm just doing research right now and was wondering what UTV you would recommend.

Just for running down for the mail, bring the trash cans down etc. It's about a mile,  maybe a mile and a quarter to the main street. Also for checking the fences,  dragging chainsaws and fuel around,  maybe drag a small trailer for firewood/debris.

I had a Kawasaki Mule years ago (like 2001) and I remember that it was a loud,  clunky anemic pile. Basically a motorized pinch point that smelled like fat exhaust.

Obviously,  I'm not independently wealthy,  looking at about a $5k budget max.  I also want to do used,  but not used up.

I don't need to go 50 mph, but with the steep hills,  it will need to have some balls. And fairly quiet. Not impossible to work on a plus. Lol

I wouldn't mind getting something I could take on camping trips when we don't take the CJ7.

Thanks in advance.

Find a used Yamaha rhino. They are all kinda clanky and noisey. Can't go wrong with a Yamaha.

I am gonna agree on the Yamaha rhino, there the most reasonable priced used machines that will have plenty of power for what you need to get done. Or look into the YJ jeep wranglers with all the new 4 doors out it brought the prices pretty cheap. I just sold a 95 for 4800 had lift, lockers, gears, which etc

I already have a CJ7 with a 304, 4 speed and a hard top. Lifted,  E-lockers,  6 point cage, the works. I have a friend with a used Rhino for sale in Roseville, maybe I'll hit him up.

Thanks.

Thanks for the direction.

I drove a turbo charged Razr and had a hard on for an hour.  I just don't have the scratch. Lol that thing had Bluetooth for music,  self leveling cup holders, light bars to make night time day and all sorts of trick stuff. It was pretty quiet and smooth,  but cost more than my Super Duty, faster too. Lol

The razr's kick ass but are not much for utility .  I have a 2011 rhino 700 and take it to the desert and added a full roll cage and with 4 people it has plenty of power for dunes. Plus uses ones are pretty cheep cause everyone wants the Polaris or can-am ones

We talked about this, you arent allowed to bring your chevy lovin ass within 10 miles of me. Jeez! Privacy!  Lol

My stepdad bought a 2015 canam recently and it is all kinds of badass. Just a lil pricey for my taste. Heard good things about the Rhinos.

I'd be towing it out of there with a Super Duty. It's more Ford than your boat lol.

Besides,  the Rhino is in Reno, he lives in Roseville,  so suck it. I'll just go around you.

Hahaha.
