Spent my day trying to smooth out my intake. It's time consuming

Mocked up my water/fuel separator parts. Waiting for warmer/dryer weather so I can paint everything and get ready to install. Also stopped by Elsinore Marine off Grand Ave. for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at their inventory for those last minute things I may need on my way to launch.

Motor mounts came in yesterday still waiting on gaskets from mondello and milodon and timing chain from jegs and new carb main body. I hope by next week.

I'm jealous. Wanted to start yanking my exterior out and start sanding her down this weekend but that was a no due to the rain. Hopefully next weekend. Till then I'll keep collecting parts lol.

Please share the details on your put setup.  If you had to do it again, would you go the same route?

I am trying the Harbor Freight Oil Extractor:  http://www.harborfreight.com/6-1-4-quarter-gallon-oil-extractor-46149.html but, as with most HF products, I am not entirely stoked with the results.  Killed my POS Kobalt air compressor, now upgraded to a 10HP, 3-phase, 180 gallon Kellog-American...  Just waiting to get my electric rolled over to 3-phase.  If I can’t hold out any longer, I will swap out my Baldor 10HP single phase motor, but it uses twice the amps.

It would be nice to have something that doesn’t require shop air to run.

Thanks,

Joe

What is that and how does it work?

It's a 12 volt pump that is wired to a switch and has a barbed fitting where the drain plug goes and a hose to the pump then a hose with a threaded barbed fitting with a cap so you push the caped hose out your drain in the transom in to a bucket and turn the pump on then I run a quart or two more after its empty to get the old out

Well I'm one step closer to getting motor out and putting new Dooley 10qt Pan on... In order to make sure my dipstick would read correctly I set the pan up in the garage at a slight angle, close to how it will be sitting in boat, and filled it with 9qts of water. Luckily it landed right at the "add 1qt" mark. Added the 10th and it reads perfectly👍 what a relief! Also, I got the temp sensor installed along with a Fumoto Drain Valve. After that was done I started priming parts to the water/fuel seperator set up and will paint tomorrow.

I'm starting to go a little crazy because as I wait for chance to pull motor I start another little project one after another...😖  Not the best thing for my slightly OCD personality!!
