ahh.  beautiful boat inside and out.  id cringe drilling the first hole in it...

thank you very much.  Yeah, I'm nervous drilling holes into it too. Measure 8 times drill once. Haha that's the plan.

I got a new hull!!!
It's a 18' Kornowski Kustom.. 72 Kachina bottom that has been blueprinted along with ride and shoe.. Fresh out of the mold Crusader deck... 4 mahogany stringers, all metal flake gelcoat,capped and custom gas tanks.

no..i had to change out 2 rods and didnt take other pistons out....should i take them all out? or cool like that just put main caps on first?

Are your old rods totally trashed to where you couldn't get weights off of them?  They will probably be pretty close, but could also be way off.   I would at least see if the piston/rod assembly, in the event of pressed pins, were close.  Could pick up a cheap digital postal scale.  Just a suggestion.

well i gave them both to lj speed shop in napa to get some that will work soooo hopefully they did all..i gave them my old 2 so they could match them up...hopefully they thought about all that..i cuz i sure as hell didnt..  thanks for info ..next time i kno wat to do...im already half way done now.  Keep u guys posted.

Pulled her in the garage today. Gotta lift the motor to change the oil and get her prepped for Laughlin next weekend!

While you got it lifted, consider installing an oil drain hose and if necessary, a head-mounted remote oil filter, or at least one that has the filter opening up so it doesn't spill when you remove it.

Thanks Joe! Yeah thats the plan, I have a drain hose on order so hopefully it gets here in time.... If not I plan on pulling the motor in a few months for a dyno session anyway so ill put the hose on then.
