Like I stated on FB, that is an easy one. We have fixed much larger problems than that on a river bank. Depending on how much HP you are planning, this is about a three or four hour job with minimal materials. Most of which can be found in good shape used. I would not stress this as much as you are.
The housing looks to be OK, the impeller is toast and should not be used, the shaft is easily replaceable and or can be repaired/sleeved, everything else is maintenance parts.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. A worn out pump is a silly reason to stop you from benefiting from all the hard work you guys did.
And I agree with Joe. Really don't look to abnormal.
