Been meaning to finally get around to replying to this thread. "What did you do to your boat today?" - What a loaded question.

First, some explanation of the situation with some thanks and shoutouts are necessary. To say that owning my first boat has been an emotional rolleroacaster of constant ups and downs would be a complete understatement. It's been the one step forward, three steps back kind of process, a process I'm sure the veteran boat owners have experienced. As a first boat owner, owning and maintaining a boat has been met with joy and disappointment. However, the learning curve has been set and thankfully, this forum has been an absolute life-saver. Special thanks to user Chad Krieger for coaching me through some pitfalls and blind corners I might have otherwise fallen into. Never have I experienced an online community so willing to help and advise, especially to complete strangers. I'm grateful. Thank you.

Long story, short, and unbeknownst to me, while I was running the boat in the driveway I was also filling the primary tubes and cylinders with water. That said, water quickly infiltrated the oil pan and it sent me scratching my head. Where was this water coming from? Was the block or cylinder heads cracked? Thankfully, some time on the phone, and a relentless onslaught of text messages from Kreiger later, we concluded the water from the jet was not being regulated as efficiently as it should be. Two trips to Home depot, a basic 101 study-sesh of how the jet works in regard to cooling the engine and headers, and a replumb of the jet lines later, it was corrected.

Aside from severing a transmission oil line on the truck at Castaic, I've made two trips to the lake (Castaic/Pyramid) with no issues as of yet (fingers crossed). Some fine tuning of the new gate valve from the jet has netted some positive results. I'm happy to report the water is no longer in the oil, the pipes are steaming as they should above 1,200 RPM + and the boat seems to be on track to enjoy for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, I won't be making the AVI. I'll be left looking vicariously through the SoCalJetBoats.com Instagram page for my fix. Hoping for Father's day weekend...

Enjoy the photos...

Rooster454,

Looks great!  Stick with it and don't let anyone tell you, "The two best days of a boat owner's life are the day he/she buys it and the day he/she sells it"

Holy crap! That looks great, man.

Changed the oil, fuel/water separator filter and bought a dolley to move the boat around a little easier.
