will this wheel fit on rack n pinion can someone eyeball this

If you need a keyway or whatever it's called for it napa has them in stock. Mine was like 70 cents

It goes in the slot of the steering shaft and you slide the hub of it into the slot. You will have to take the cao off of the steering wheel so you can put the shaft nut on too.

Quick tip:  wrap some Teflon plumbing tape around the rack shaft taper before you install the wheel, and you won't need a puller to remove it next time

I don't care too much for the Teflon idea, though I can see where that would work. If it is lapped in and greased upon install, you just cross slap the wheel and it will pop off.. Cross slapping is hitting one side down and one side up simultaneously. Sometimes you need to hit them three or four times, reversing the direction of the hit each time...

You want a good tight contact with the taper. Keep in mind, I am from the 100+mph world and take things like steering pretty seriously. Had a tiller arm shatter at over 80 MPH going down river in the 90's in Oregon... Over the river and through the woods, never got to grandma's house. Scared the living crap out of me, all because of a poorly fitting woodruff key in the tiller pin.
