The finished water pump block off plate. Took me about 10 minutes to re-polish it. My bench grinder really doesn't have enough power for the larger buffing wheel. I think that sometime in the future I'm going to look for a BIG electric motor to attach my buffing wheels to but for now the bench grinder works good enough.

I also started to experiment with other more portable tools to attach the buffing wheel to. The following tools don't "cut it" with a large buffing wheel: air drill, air die grinder, electric 4.5 amp drill. My Makita grinder works OK but it vibrates like all holy hell, probably because the buffing wheel may not be centered perfectly.

Here's a snail I spent about 30 seconds on with the Makita grinder.

The grinder has been working pretty good for me on polishing the rest of the aluminum parts. The problem now is removing the residue from polishing the part, wipre off the part with a rag and it's covered with scratches. I think I'm going to try a different rag. Plesh told me how to clean it but I forgot, something about baby powder or...  ???

I got another new shop toy.  :o

It's a Harbor Freight 20 gallon solvent tank.  ;D  It now has about 8 gallons of solvent in it and makes cleaning parts absolutely EASY.
