Yay! Rich Boice to the rescue!
« on: June 28, 2013, 07:27:22 PM »
Dateline Friday: My thrust bearing is toast on the replacement drive I ordered, coming down to the wire for getting Keget back in the water in time for the 4th of July, thought all was lost. Then I remembered that I had texted with a guy I'd met through Craigslist (I shoulda bought his drive!) who seemed particularly knowledgeable about Berkeley-style pumps, so I find his number in my text history and send him a text to see if he can steer me in the right direction.

Turns out he asks if I can bring it to him and leave it over the weekend, maybe he can have it out by Monday. Four hours drive to Oregon later -everywhere is long way from here - I get to his place, Wow! Talk about nice boats! Turns out this really nice and helpful guy is none other than Rich Boice (didn't dawn on me) he thinks he'll have the part in hand and my drive out tomorrow morning.

Nice guys still exist, my hat's off to you Rich!

People should be like they are when they are boating in every day life, then I wouldn't want to kill most of them all the time.
