Zoomies on Daycruiser?
« on: May 11, 2009, 09:30:29 PM »
I am looking at redoing my exhaust and I want some advice or input on what I will like or not like if I just run zoomies for exhaust on my boat. I know its gonna be loud! Has anyone done this on something besides a race boat?

I wanna see THAT!

Don't think it's a good idea, but still wanna see it!

My kids like to wear shooting muffs when they have to ride in the rear seats (On the sides of the engine cover) in My mini-day, and it has logs, snails and TT tips. It's still THAT loud at speed, well, it's whopping 48 MPH! (I'm working on it, guys!)

so whats wrong with your exhaust being under water? just dont like the sound or are you getting water in your logs past the snails?

if its a water issue, get some flappers. if your internal flappers keep blowing off, get some that wrap over the exhaust tips like this

i wouldnt put zoomies on a cruiser....yeah, they look cool, but they are purpose as previously stated, for blown applications.

Can be done, but Why?

If you're gonna go to that extreme, drop a BBF or (Dare I say it) a BBC to do so, much cheaper? ???

I don't know if you have a covered engine or not...if you do zoomies or any dry or even injected exaust isn't an option. Like Brad said there is nothing wrong with the tips being in the water at idle, it keeps the noise police out of your hair too. Are you having water in oil issues?? If so turn up the idle, or consider the water may be coming from elsewhere. I like loud as much as the next guy, but the one time I ran my dry headers without the collecters on.....we're talking ear-ringing loud..maybe I'm just gettin old.

I'd look into some tt bassets, unless you have an enclosed engine compartment. In that case you'll have to go with something that is jacketed.
