Best route to parker towing?

So taking the 29ft travel trailer out to castle rock shores to store and spend the weekend. Was looking for the best route to take least amount of grades and plenty of gas stations haha. ill be leaving from Ventura area on a friday so any help would be awesome thanks guys

Starting at Post #67.

From Kroggy post# 73 :

10 east, exit 1 toward ehrenberg/Parker (flying j exit), turn left (loop around now) towards Parker, turn right onto ehrenberg poston hwy (at the t-stop), take that for about 41 miles, then make left onto 2nd st., continue into riverside dr, then left onto Bluewater resort dr.

I think the only real grade you'd have is Chirraco Summit.

I take the 10 to the Arizona 95 only 1 big grade at chirac summit can fill up with fuel in Arizona right across from Blythe gas a little cheaper there

I agree with this route, highway 177 is really bad for towing. Lots of dips and small hills. And it's only 10 miles shorter in distance

My family always took 177 (towing or not) when I was growing up going to Parker. Since I started driving and hauling my own boat I now take the 10 and go thru Quartzsite.

I grew up going rice rd. Seems faster to me but maybe just cuz I'm used to it. As soon as I got a permit to drive I was taught to tow on that road not as bad as everyone makes it sound.

I don't mind driving it. My daughter gets car sick from that road.

Understandable if you get car sick probably not the best route. I just know in my uncles later years he switched started going ehrenburg I couldn't stand it feels like it takes forever I'd go at different times just so I could go rice rd lol

I always loved rice road. It does feel faster and as a kid It felt like a roller coaster lol.

I'll use Rice road when towing the boat, but I prefer AZ95 when towing the bigger trailer.

Take the ehrenberg way we go that way even not towing most of the time is a few minutes longer but no dumb azz passing you over a double yellow at 100 mph what weekend are you going to castle rock we stay there too and love it

We are leaving the 25th, the first choice had no openings for storage so we went with castle rock and the storage fee is super cheap 40bucks. Got the trailer to keep out in Parker. Not gonna have the boat but it will be fun just being there with the dogs

I drive to Parker from Santa Barbara at least once or twice a month. 126e to 5s to 210e to 10e to 177/rice rd. Its the quickest and easiest on the gas card.

Wow! That is a long drive! Hope you don't have to tow every trip.

Depends on the racing schedule. Tow about half the trips.

I used to take Rice Rd every time the Parker, but in the past few years I've chosen to take Ehrenberg. It's a little longer and you need to watch your speed, but I feel like it's a little nicer for the tow and for safety. Must be getting old! lol
