Bashas in Needles to close for good
« on: February 13, 2010, 02:11:40 PM »
In six weeks the only market in town will close for good.   That is not gonna help the tourist trade or the old folks much at all.

not only needles. i think the people across the river in golden shores shop there too. looks like everyone will have to drive to bullhead for their daily supplies.

actually, i wouldnt doubt that was the case already to avoid high CA taxes.

C'mon Ralph, you know that California will make the exception. The question is, will Arizona?

If you were dependant on state generated handouts why wouldn't you go where you get the most money ?

It sounds like it was a good deal for everyone involved.   The local taxpayers fund the only store in town, the store will continue to generate sales/property tax for the city.  They will probably have to spend some money locally to upgrade the equipment and that will help keep their cost down into the future.  Love it when a plan comes together.
And a whole lotta boaters are gonna not have to haul their supplies all the way from OC, LA, or the IE
