I got a call from GlassCutter shortly after I arrived at AVI.  He was stopped on the 15 with trailer problems.

OK I give up.    Long story short is we left home at 3:30 and got all of 20 miles when people on the road start waving me down.  I pull over expecting to find a taillight dangling or something stupid.  Instead I find both main rails of the trailer have torn completely up to the top plate, between the hitch and where it all ties together.   Crazy shit, it just fatigued, rust was not an  issue.
AAA is called and told to bring a flat bed.  After an hour a truck shows but it isn't a flatbed.  He says "flatbed will be too small, you need a road dolly semi."    AND that will probably be three hours cuz they are hard to find."
It is now 4:40pm and I start trying to find a mobile welder.  When I finally do find one he is still an hour and a half away!

Sooo long after dark he getS it done BUT NOW I DON'T HAVE ANY RUNNING LIGHTS !        Signal and brakes but the trailer is completely dark running down the road!    Combine this with not being able to find the diodes from JBP to make the PD work and not being able to find the new registration sticker for the boat, I figured it was already expensive enough trip, I don't need one or two tickets on top of everything else.   

You guys may be at the river, but I am gonna outdrink ya all.        Starting now!

Crazy thing #1 was we (I) had no idea anything was wrong.       The deck just filled my entire rearview mirror at a slightly diff attitude.

Crazy thing #2  is that the people waving at me didn't show the proper degree of concern IMHO.   They were way too casual and I almost just kept on driving a few more miles to the offramp.

Orrrr . . . you could have brought that sweet ass daycruiser with you, we could have swapped boats, and I could have continued on my way while you worked.

No?    Well can't blame me for trying.   

          Honestly, sometimes things work out for the best, and I know that as "pirate" as I was running I surely would have gotten a ticket for something.   I'm really most bummed that it would have mostly the last river trip this season AND to a section of river I have never spent time on.    There is always next year I guess.
Now if I can just figure out my trailer light issues.   Anybody in the I.E. good with this stuff?   Its all just been redone and worked great a month ago.

How come nobody has posted any pics, news, police reports, pregnancy results etc. from AVI?     SCJB'rs was there right?    Not even any reports of drunk dialing or Karaoke injuries.  WTF?

My wife actually told me to go on without her and the kids.   She says just "Boat Bitch for someone."     I told her the site already has one Bob.   

She also reminded me that I need to get to work on HER Spectra.   When did that happen? 

Had a great time this weekend (pics to follow).

Running the boat and floating down from Laughlin was fun but I really enjoyed hanging out in the parking lot with everyone at the end of the day.  It reminded me so much of hanging out at the street races or cruising Market St/Magnolia in Riverside back in the day (I know I'm dating myself) 

Not too much to report from the crime scene but I can tell you that no farm animals were involved
