New trailer shop

So those of you that followed my gullwing build saw that we had a shop in Havasu fabricate our new trailer. After alot of thought my partner Drake and I decided to start building our own trailers. We just opened the new shop in Elsinore and can do everything from trailer bunks to total remodel and paint. Also can set you up with stainless fenders (sorry, we don't do chrome for your benefit..lol). If anybody's trailers need some love hit me up...... RD

riverdad............do u have a way to take the boats off trailer and store them.......also i would like to have a additional hole cut in the rear so i can add another light.......to each side........let me know thanks

If it's a low profile boat with no engine in it we can put it on a rack but if it's a large boat with a mill it would be a little tricky. The Elsinore launch ramp is about a mile from the shop and I do have an extra trailer we could swap it onto. Or just launch the boat, go for a a few hour cruise and it will be done. Cool River Dad. My buddy here is bugging me to do the same thing out here on the east coast. There are a lot of horse trailers here as well as boat trailers. There is no business around that does actual fabrication on trailers other than just swap out parts.

Make yourself a jig for the plasma cutter for the lights. You need to calculate the torch offset and then make the jig. I did mine on the mill so it came out nice and straight. The edges are square as well which makes lining up the hole easy.

Thanks guys, you too Brad....... lol. I wish there was some way to correct your title issue but I don't see any way in Nevada. Your're the one that wanted to be closer to the strip clubs....... Just jokin...

There really is a big hole in the SoCal trailer market, especially now that Custom Trailers in Rancho closed the doors (couldn't say no to the purchase offer for the property). I think there is a good demand for guys fixing up older boats and putting alot of effort into older projects, and the trailer is a big part of that. If there is anything I can do to help any of you guys out, let me know.

How about adding another axle... I have a single trail rite with only two long bunks. This was made for my hull by trail rite years back. Also adding a spare tire rack under it...

Unfortunately, painting is not cheap (thank you CA.......). Because we are a business, we have to use a spray booth. I can't wait to retire and move to AZ where we could paint it in our driveway if we wanted to.....lol

It's still not bad, but our cost is around 750 to spray a trailer. Any Fab work might be a little more, but for what a new trailer costs it is worth cleaning up an older trailer if it's still solid.

So that's what happened to Kustom Trailer. I always wondered. The owner was a cool guy. He did some work for me right before they closed.

Are you guys still in business? I would like to do a full resto on my 21 trailer this winter. Paint, add more lights, change a few things, fenders, wheels/ tires and etc.

It got to be a bit much to maintain a shop and run a full on business one or two days a week, but I still work with Solares Trailer in Hemet getting projects done. They can handle anything you need from dollies to full new builds.

Here's one we just did for a gullwing road trailer.

out of curiosity whats a typical/ballpark/guesstimate cost to have a trailer blasted/sanded and repainted? id love to have it done im just scared to go take it somewhere and have someone say "$3k" etc.
