Figured I'd start a thread about this. This trailer was pretty much given to me. tandem axle, old school and solid. The only problem with getting it free was that it was rusted to hell. So the plan was to strip down the old rigging, strip the paint and rust, repaint the trailer, new brake lines, new led lights, new bunks, new trailer hubs, new drums and brakes and brake lines. I actually started on Friday I just wanted to start the thread before I got to far into it.

Day 2: strip the old paint and rust. I used bud light, paint thinner, paint stripper, an angle grinder with a flap disc, and wire wheels and more bud light to get this done.

More pix. After I got a little technique together. I started just applying the paint stripper and waiting on that to work. Then decided to apply paint thinner first, scrub with paint stripper pad( this really helped break up the rust). Then applied the paint stripper and it worked faster and cleaned up better after grinding with the flap disc.

use this stuff.  you'll get better results.  the stuff you have is more geared for like house paint and wood stains. 

this burn the crap out of your hand though so use gloves. 



brush it on, wait 30 minutes or so and rinse it off. ive removed powdercoating with it with great results. paint doesnt stand a chance.
