The "later Miller trailers" float (for a while) because of the Box rail contruction .I belive a large portion were built by a welder in Santa Maria CA nice work .My first one "floated" My current is older ,was built by Competetive and has metal fenders . Bummer re your launch experience ,I usually am very patient and "pick (as best I can) when the right moment is to dump it in then I always get the bow pointed out (paddle if possible) ASAP especially on the flatty ,usually pisses off everybody else launching

PS dont feel bad ,one time a long time ago I Picked Rhonda up (feeling all Macho) put her in the drivers seat dumped the boat in then ran down the ramp , she idled up ,I plopped my a$$ on the bow and low and behold water was up to the frikken Alternator (oops forget the plug (DOH !)
