You missed the question. My boat is slow and yes you'll smoke me in any style of race.

From a dig only similar hulls match up. CP's have a obvious advantage over every other hull.

Not every Daytona or tunnel sucks from a dig. Jakes placecraft leaves fine and with not a whole lot more hp.

I got some smack talk for "We Race From a Dig"

Who made this rule?

Had to be a CP owner. Didn't know when I first went to a event that no one can complete from a dig with a CP other than another CP.

Can't be about safety, dig to 800 ft is no different than 20 mph start to 660 ft. Besides what we do here is not all that safe, we simply try and be as safe as possible.

Every time this comes up the CP guys are "We Race From a Dig" Jim 

How fast would my Daytona have to go to compete against the top 2 CP's. I know they run to 120 mph.
I'm guesstimating 145 mph to run em down and tie at 800 ft.
Just to clarify I have no desire to ever go past 110 mph ish.

   As far as who made the rules is was a group of 6 guys.  There is plenty of people that has competed against the wingers and beat them without a winger.  The top two wingers take over a quarter mile to hit those speeds.  I have no problems racing you from a roll off the bottle.  Any tunnel capable of running with us on top end at 800' will leave with us from a dig.  My 19 has to have more HP then Dennis 18 to leave and keep up with him just life.  When you get your boat up to 110 MPH you will not be complaining about the wingers.  I'm not 110 in 800' however i know of some tunnel guys that are.

my setups alil different then the suck my wake boat, I'm pretty sure you had to engage the cav plate on that boat to spin the blower belt!! Lol mines just a big a/c compressor with carbs attached!!

At what MPH a tunnel hull affectively produces aerodynamic lift is largely a function of the shape of the tunnels.  Shallow and wider will develop lift at a lower MPH than taller and narrower.  Keel and lifting surfaces all factor in as does intake design and installation.  After that,  it's all about fine tuning hardware.

And how to run a blocker and a beaver tail. ......

Enjoying all the reply's to some smack talk I through out there this morning. Internet's been down since about 11 this morning and just came back on. Gotta luv Time Warner, it really does work 99% of the time 

Not really complaining about the CP's. Really sweet & quick boats. When I met Jim last year he told me nothing can compete with a CP from a dig and at the time I was thinking really? I thought I had a fairly fast river boat, not. Learned a lot since then, I think Jim's right.

I don't expect I'll ever be that good at a dig start, it's a learned art and hardware can make a big difference.

It's way easier for me with the manual place diverter and a bit more comfortable to have everything set at 20 mph with 2 hands squeezing the wheel when I hit it.

Talked to Flusher in person yesterday, good seeing you Joe. Have a couple of parts in the works that should help some.

Oh, I'm a little older than Jim and enjoy my crayons along with some Hi C

. Gull wings properly setup with with 700 hp is hard to beat from a dig with most hulls with the same 700 hp. Not every winger leaves good and some of them are heavy. A good winger is hard to beat 660 to 800 ft but not unbeatable by no means. Not to mention that is just my opinion and I don't know shit.

I was thinking more along the lines of super street against a super comp car. But pro mod does have a nice ring to it. Or we can really get with it and say x275 car. ☺️
