I always joked around that I could not afford the divorce if I brought another project home. Well, I never brought home another project, but get to see if I can afford the divorce anyways.

I guess for now, just wanted to say that I will either be on here much less, or way more.

Time will tell.

For all the things I have fixed, rebuilt, built from scratch. This is the one thing I wanted to get right.

I think it was a bad design. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Hope to see some of you guys around.

thats too bad..... i can appreciate someone who is crafty with their hands, talented enough to build things from scratch....make repairs when needed....and while i cant say i know what youre going thru....i definitely sympathize. if i were closer....id buy you a drink...guess we'll settle for an IOU

Not much to tell really.

We just don't seem to like each other much anymore.

Been together since we were basically stupid kids. Had kids pretty young.

They grew up, they are going to college, we thought we were gong to be ok, but we are too different. I want to start working on a more simple back to basics future, she wants to wallow in the past.

I am a very "make mistakes, learn from them and move on" and she likes to play the blame game and play the victim.

I'm too old to try to make it work.

at least you gave it a good try... marriage is tough. ive had my fair share of fights and even though we're only a few years in the D word gets thrown around like a joke but it stings even just hearing it, let alone what you are going through. as with anything in life just know that the best thing you can do for yourself is to lean on friends and family for support. i hope that things between you two are amicable, the last thing anyone needs is to be a thorn in someones side. just know that in such times like these its best to start to protect yourself both emotionally, physically, and financially. ive seen a few friends say "take whatever you want" or "i just let her have it all" and are left with absolutely nothing and a huge hole for years, ESPECIALLY if theres children involved. i wish you the best and just know, we're all here to lend a shoulder or an ear.

Yeah, you guys probably don't know, but I have two "kids" but they are both in college and according to them relieved that we're calling it quits. Life has really been shitty for several years.

Anyways, thank you guys so much for the support. I don't think it will be too bad for too long, but you really never can tell.

And as for dividing up stuff, all my stuff is "old useless junk that nobody in their right mind would want" so I think I will be OK. Besides, I finally get to get out from underneath this damn house. (that's looking at the one and only silver lining)..

I just want to stop the constant bickering. I can't do anything right...

I know it sounds bad?? But trust me you have to cover yourself finically from here on out!! And cross your t's and dot your I's!! Make sure your last taxes are prepared by someone and not just the spouse... Trust me!! Ask me how I know!! 2 years later and get audited and oops 5k short! And the irs doesn't care how many pieces of paper you have saying that you agreed to anything!! It does get better! Sucks at first! But then you start getting back to being around good friends and family and start living life again... Hell I just ordered my first 632 bbc!!! 👍👍 I couldn't have done that 3 years ago without hearing all the ¥£€%#!!! Keep your head up!! Good things happen to good people!!!

I am sorry you have to go through this. Please take the necessary steps to protect yourself. Please find a good lawyer that you can work with. One of my students went through the same thing. He talked to a few lawyers, all asked first, "What does she want?" I referred an attorney used by a friend. First thing he asked, "What do YOU want?" My dealings with lawyers is that they usually don't have your best interest at heart and some even get confused as to whom they are working for.

I don't mean any disrespect, but what has happened to just about everyone I know was the joint accounts get emptied, she gets the car and the house, and he gets the payments. Please take the necessary steps to protect yourself.

That's true once filled everything from that point on is a business transaction and nothing more. Do like i did take all the boats and cars and have a buddy you can trust put them in his name (the sooner the better) that way there not legally yours .just make sure your not a dick about and there's legally nothing she can do about it.

If you and your wife are still on reasonably good terms, go to court affiliated arbitration. You guys do all the legal property division and the court rubber stamps it AND no attorneys allowed in to muck things up and turn you one against the other.
From my completely biased perspective Glenn, she will come to regret driving you away, as you are a good man and not easily replaced.
