As most of you know I'm a proponent of guns and gun ownership ,heres a Note below in bold and a poll sent me this AM by one of my largest Marine suppliers Tom
Please vote this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.
First - vote on this one. Second - launch it to all the pro-gun folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.
To vote in the USA Today poll, click on the link below. Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?
Vote here:

WTF I said to him, he replied, this way when they come to round up everyones firearms I'll show them there ads and tell them I sold all of them. ;) btw still at 97%.

Brilliant!
Join the NRA, or another gun lobbying group; it's a shame to put up with all the fundraising stuff they send but we must stand up and be heard.
U.S. Constitution - Amendment 2
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
(what is it about a comma that they don’t understand!)
-
After reading this tread I decided to look into the U.S. constitution online at this web site...
http://www.usconstitution.net (http://www.usconstitution.net)
to come across this text...
Quote "Perhaps in the 1780's, the rise of a tyrant to a leadership position in the U.S. was a cause for concern. Today, in my opinion, the voters are much too sophisticated to elect a leader whose stated aims would be to suppress freedom or declare martial law. For the leader whose unstated aim it was to seize the nation, the task would be more than daunting — it would be next to impossible. The size and scope of the conspiracy needed, the cooperation of patriots who would see right through such a plan — it is unfathomable, the stuff of fiction. There are some who fear the rise in executive power under the second Bush presidency is just such a usurpation, and in some ways it may be. But similar usurpations of power by the Congress and the President, such as the Alien and Sedition Acts, the suspension of habeas corpus during the Civil War, or the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II, were all eventually overturned or struck down and then condemned by history. My hope is that history can be our guide this time, too." End quote.
For this reason alone I hope your right to bare arms is never changed!
Live safe, live free and boat like there is no tomorrow ;)
-Rebel
p.s. makes you wounder, if an indavidual did not have the right to bare arms... who would do the defending in time of need? is not the militia made up of common folk? thus... I rest my case ;) Dumb ass question if you ask me! I'd vote yes!
-
ya know Reb your right....I read this email today from a guy I know in Nor-Cal....I don't know if it's all true but it's something to think about.....And perhaps our for fathers knew someday we'd need the 2nd.......and I Quote====
"Who is Barack Obama?
If you are a Christian you really should become involved.
Who is Barack Obama?
Very interesting and something that should be considered in your choice.
If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all your contacts....
this is very scary to think of what lies ahead of us here in our own United States...better heed this and
pray about it and share it.
We checked this out on
"snopes.com". It is factual. Check for yourself.
Who is Barack Obama?
Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack
Hussein Obama was born
in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack
Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel,
Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHEIST from Wichita, Kansas.
Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His
mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.?
When Obama was 6 years old, th e family relocate to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta.
He also spent two years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also
attended Catholic school."
Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that that he is not a radical.
Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.
Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta.
Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western
world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United
States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for
our flag. While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level
- through the President of the United States, one of their own!!!!
Please forward to everyone you know.
Would you want this man leading our country?....Something to think about"======Un Quote.

I belive I'm correct but will work to find and verify the source ...however I've recently read that in the case of every country fallen thruout history that countries peoples were first "convinced" to disarm or forced to disarm ! re the above post regarding Obama I will research same my self this weekend Tom

In support of this thread and the 2nd amendment. I bought a J-fame Dan Wesson Arms .357 Magnum over the weekend. Pickup date is Jan. 30th. Can't wait. Next month we'll see about an ar-15.
-
Congrats The DW is an outstanding piece !
-
I've heard quite a few good things about them. You have any info on them? This is my first .357 and I couldn't pass this bad boy up with the sticker price 10 years ago being $750 I bought it UNFIRED for $250 from my ole lady's grandfather. I've also heard you can fire a .38 through the .357? I measured the .38 pill and found it to be .357 in diameter at its largest point????? ANY INFO ANYBODY? Because .38 is a whole lot cheaper for target shooting!
He's got a S&W .44 mag for sale along with a German Luger, .30 carbine, an Italian .25?(don't remember brand), Beretta .22LR revolver with the secondary hornet cartridge cylinder, Beretta 9mm, another 9mm. A lot of good stuff. I don't remember the others... If anyone is interested let me know. All of the guns are at least 10 years old.
My friends grandfather just died. He left behind a tremendous safe full of firearms, crossbows, knives, etc. I should have a list pretty soon if anyone is interested. All $HIGH$ stuff for cheap. Lot's of shotguns, etc.
-
Dan Wesson Firearms are some of the best...... that's why the price keeps going up on them.
As for the AR15, another great weapon that is on the ban list....... good luck with that.
-
Just curious I own a ruger mini 14 with a couple of 30 shot clips should I be worried about using /owning that?
-
I don't know about Utah, but in CA... Sadly yes, you should be worried.....
Anybody have a bulk ammo sales contact? Or just a cheaper place to buy ammo???? Ammo for sale?
-

Cooooool; my first gun, and still have it; bought it when I was 18 (sadly, that was nearly 30 years ago); 6" barrel; I replaced the stock large wood grip (but kept it) with a smaller one; always wanted to get the full set of barrels but never did (I'd at least like to have the 2"; that would increase the recoil :o )
What size barrel does yours have?
-
Hey Undone have you already priced cabela's ammo?
-
I've heard quite a few good things about them.
Dan Wesson made an excellent revolver; was used primarly for competitive target shooting because of it's amazing accuracy; the only major criticism of the revolver is it takes both hands to open the cylinder (the mechanism is in front of the cylinder and is pushed down, as opposed to being behind and pushed forward); unless you're in a gun battle, that makes no difference.
Dan Wesson went out of business some time ago; it has been acquired and reaquired several times but never came back with any resolve; the best I can determine, the Dan Wesson rights are now held by:
http://danwesson.sectordevelopment.com/article/about (http://danwesson.sectordevelopment.com/article/about)
UNFIRED
That seems unlikely, but possible; they haven't made this gun in many years so it's hard to believe it's been around for that long and never fired; but possible.
$250
Good price
I've also heard you can fire a .38 through the .357?
Yes; and for messing around, that's the way to go; I keep my loaded with .357 hallows at home but for shooting I use mostly .38's but always need to let go several rounds of .357's (otherwise may as well own a .38).
NOTE: Just for fun, when you're shooting with someone who can handle a gun, load up 5 .38's and 1 .357; be sure to have the .357 in the last chamber; let the person fire the gun and they'll think it's a bee-bee gun (firing the .38's) then they get to the last round - BAM!RECOIL; I love that >:D .
S&W .44 mag
"The most powerful handgun ever made" ; "Do ya feel lucky punk; well do ya!" - Dirty Harry; mid 70's (was just on the other day). BTW, .44 mag is no longer the most powerfull handgun.
Beretta 9mm, another 9mm
I'd be interested to know how much for those and what size they are.
-
I'll keep you updated as I find out... You ever fired a 454 cassul?
-
I'll keep you updated as I find out... You ever fired a 454 cassul?
not me
If you don't know yet on the barrel length, my guess is 6"; that was the most common.

I also have a S&W .44 mag. It was my b-day present to me on my 21st b-day. Seeing how I'll be 44 next monday, it has provided me many years of service and enjoyment. My Hk94 has been with me a few more years than the .44. I don't take it out to avoid attention. It came with all the bells and whistles. Double-banana clip, retracting stock, Schubrichtung scope mount. I'll have to take it out and take a few pics so I can post em.

Yours most likely has that exact grip (that's the original); I replaced mine just for something smaller (but I still have the original).

Check eBay; also, carefull on the replacement grip is you're trying to slim down the gun; my new grip reduced the size subsantially but increased the weight; the rubber, although smaller, was heavier than the original wood grip.

not blood relative. Even so you need to transfer through a gun dealer...
That's where we need to put our foot down; refuse to do that; 'bill of sale' personal transfer is the only way that needs to be done; personal purchases/transfers forced thru a dealer is unbelievable and impediment on rights.
This just goes to show and prove that all of these gun laws are just stupid; the only ones who abide by the law are already law-abiding citizens (maybe I'm wrong; I'm sure the gangers transfer thru dealers also :-\ )

yes they do. in fact 2 suspicious characters were in there as i was transfering mine. One was wondering how hard it was gonna be because he had a felony.

Here an example of your anti gunners at work
Outrage of the Week -- Crossing the Line: This week's outrage comes from Pasquotank County in North Carolina.
If you want a gun permit in Pasquotank, you can go to the new Pasquotank Public Service Building in Elizabeth City, but you must stand in line. The only problem is that you, a law-abiding citizen, may have to stand in that line with convicted sex offenders. That's because if you're there to get a gun permit, there's only one line you're allowed to stand in; and the sign at the head of that line reads, "Gun Permits/Sex Offender Registration."

Do they really think that will stop people from getting a permit by embarasssing them. Sounds like there grabbing at straws here.

I have seen some stupid things in my life, but that takes the cake ::)
When government, elected by the people for the people, forces decent people to indure that kind of sick logic.
On another note... glad to see you guys use the type of rounds you do (or wepons), so as not to take out the neighbours! ;)
Just hope non of you ever have to use it, but glad in the same breath you have it if you do >:D
be safe everyone... times are always changing

This is her... Finally got her today, my ten days is up! God have pity on the incredibly intelligent individual/group of individuals who kick down the door of anyone who has posted in this thread.

VERY NICE! (I missed this addition to this thread when I wasn't logged on for a while so hadn't seen your gun yet)
Looks just like mine (B4 I changed grips) except it looks like your barrel may be ribbed (I can't really tell); if it is, that's an asset.
-
It's ribbed. Still haven't shot it yet.
My girlfriend brought one of her friends over the other day and scared the shit out of her... Every corner of our bedroom has 2-3 rifles and shotguns standing in them. I never realized how skiddish people are around guns. She was probably safer at that moment in her life than ever before...
-
The oldest of my three children is 15; in all those years I had one parent ask me, before letting their kid come over, if there were any guns in the house; I told them that's not their business and left it at that; with that they should've assumed I had guns but the kid was allowed over; which begs the question: why did they ask in the first place. :banghead:
There's no safer household than the knowledgably armed household.

My Bro in law says .... everyone who doen't own a gun is a direct benificiary of those who do ! cause the bad guys never know what might be behind the door , take away guns from our society and watch the chaos !
(just ask Australia)
-
That's right, on all counts; Australia is one of the best examples; sad thing is, they're not smart enough to correct it so viloent, home intrusion crimes continue.
