Thanks Brad and Britt for all that you doSCJB events allow me to escape the inner city and hang out with some really cool and friendly people. I don’t have FB because I got into a lot of trouble growing up gangs,cars and dr&@s. You all get the picture . When I read these posts, it  gets me to look forward to the next upcoming event  and  keeps that other inner city guy locked away in that secure trunk, you have to be Jock Crusto to dive deep and bring that guy back up but he’s there and this site helps me keep him there . When I go to events and Brads taking pics, my Float is right there along with the big boys. To me it’s  just a way of him appreciating your boat and saying thank you for coming out . When the site post up pics from an event all boats get there pic posted, mine has been posted at lest 3 times and it’s nothing special just a cruiser. Thanks Brad “

I will say that I have talked to several people there that were seeking advice and I have told every one if them to get this forum app and ask questions here ... Facebook is DEFINITELY NOT the place to get advice

Agreed with that! To many people out there who don't know what they're talking about trying to give advice.

Fuck Facebook and all that social media horse shit, I stay on the app like I have from the jump. I pop in and out threw out the week just looking but I agree 110% this site has gone down hill, it sucks but ultimately we can't make people get on and say f FB.

I prefer the OG site. Traffic has been really slow lately tho. The FB site gives better access to post and view pics/videos and I appreciate that. But that's about it. The boat scene has become a little dooshy lately. Some people are just not helpful or nice. There is no reason to be that way. Some people just need solid information cause they don't know what they are doing and genuinely ask for help. On FB, there is a tidal wave of bad info cause newbies want to be that guy. Would love to see the newbies get directed to the original site. See what is in the archives. Ask and get the information they need. There is something to be said when a senior member with a long standing profile history of great answers says something as opposed to a newer member. None of that exists on FB.

I totally rebuilt my boat myself and would not have been able to do it without this site. I think most of the people with the real knowledge are still here. I do follow the Facebook group but I agree that it is full of a bunch of turds.

What happened?

Pretty simple.
1. It's winter, summer pretty much sucked sweaty ass.

2. Facebook likely slowed things a little because of convenience, but I don't feel it's the root cause.

3. We have a complete adult diaper dumpster fire in the white house. That divided more folks than you think (wont get into that discussion here).

4. I personally have been taking a vacation from forums, cancelled all but this one and Pirate 4X4 and spend very little of my time on either...


I was stupid busy, leaving the house at 5:30am and getting home at 9pm.... dark to dark as my wife says. Growing a new area for my new shop as a foreman. Didn't really have any time off all summer.
 
As a result, I was in a crazy accident and fell off a roof November 10th and shattered my right arm at the wrist, elbow and shoulder.

I can't do shit right now. Bored as hell and hurting like you wont believe. I will likely not get 100% use of my right side, not anytime soon anyway. I am otherwise OK, thankfully, could have been really bad, life ending even......

Go fast boats are the furthest thing from my mind right now. I'm thinking of selling off everything and invest in a cruiser to spend the night on if I can't get my houseboat (was in process the week of the accident).


I guess what I'm trying to say is, life's short and can change in a heartbeat.


I'll pop in from time to time, but typing left handed is slow as hell....

Thank you all.... I'm hoping to regain most of my abilities, but the doctors are being very careful to keep expectations of my prognosis in check.

I try and check in when I can. I also try to keep an eye on my messages.
