I Miss Deer Hunting! Probably the only thing I miss from back east!
Mom's here now for the winter (From PA), she hadda wait 'til after deer season was over to see what our "dear" friends got off the farm! These people are like my brother and sisters, but their one son got a 10 point from Mom's place! Kewl!
Best I ever did was an 8 point, and was tiny, maybe 105 lbs dressed. Pops got a 10 point once, and I'll be damned forever if that thing didn't weigh 150 dressed.
Both of us only hunted with handguns the last 20 or so years (Kindof a personal thing, Dad always thought he was a better shot, I spent the latter part of my life proving him right.......) Dad got his with a .41 magnum Ruger I bought him, My best I got with a .357 maximum Seville.....
But Groundhogs? HAH! I owned the old man! 286 yards with a handgun (Property surveyer HAPPENED to be in the hood)! He never could beat that! (Lucky as hell I was....) LOL!
