Single full length swim step
« on: March 17, 2008, 05:32:29 PM »
Looks like my swim step was damaged in the accident I had. I am looking for one to put on the back of my boat. Dark blue or white preferred - needs to be the full length one according to the wife.

OK here goes

I was talking to a guy at El Cap once and he had just gotten done restoring a gayliner, looked really nice. Anywho he had a full length swim step on his boat and I commented on it, told him I'd never seen one on a boat like his before. He said he bought it at a marine salvage yard up north and he handmade the brackets for it.  ???

I'm making mine from that Polyethylene  marine board, the same stuff cutting boards are made of
you can use regular wood working tools to cut it.  I have a saved link at work. comes in several colors
and is UV stable

I can water jet cut one out of aluminum for ya, but it could get kinda pricy due to the cost of the alum and depending on length, width, thickness of material. If you are interested(sp) shoot me some dims and I can figure something up for ya. Just a thought...
