splash guard
« on: March 26, 2016, 08:11:39 PM »
I'm thinking about putting a splash guard on my boat and was just kinda trying to get an idea of what they cost or how hard they are to get ahold of. It would be put on a 78 bahner. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, nick

Last summer I made a template out of poster paper from the craft store. I took it to a local plastic company and had them cut it out of a sheet of 1/8th acrilic. I bent it myself with the aid of a heat gun. Came out great. Cost was about $90.

I'm in Iowa. There were a few in my city. They do custom bending and shaping. Display cases. Stuff like that.  I'm sure there is a shop like that in every major city. Just call around.

It follows the same plane as the inside of the gunnel. So yeah it lays back a little. One of the hardest parts was making that sort of compound curve. Its absolutely not a straight piece when laid out flat.

I run dry headers so the acrylic will just melt on mine.  So it's either aluminum or stainless
