hey everybody , just joined the site and am glad to be here ,. looks like a cool forum with tons of knowledge
i am looking for a water pressure regulator for my 1973 Silverline Aruba GTV Jet boat -Olds 455 . the boat was my dads that he bought back in 73' , from around 2000 till now we have been working on it restoring the entire thing inside and out and he even bought me a paint rig and let me paint a kick azz hockey stripe design on it when i was 16 ,.. 88 stripes total !! hehe :-) .
anyway , back in feb 2012 my dad passed away from lung cancer and i ended up with the boat , it was still unfinished and i had to rewire the entire boat to get it running ,.. i got her making noise and on the water only to find out that i was getting water in the oil , losing oil pressure , and had a broken lifter ,.. so i bought a new cam & lifters , new oil pump , got the motor tore down and out of the boat ready for new gaskets all the way around ,.. so now im looking for a pressure reg to keep my motor happy and i should have this boat finally finished after 12 years of work ,.. so for the long post i just wanted to introduce myself but didnt know what section to post in
BTW if anybody can explain to me in a "caveman way" how to setup the water pressure regulator properly with pissers coming off the motor that would be great ,.. i think i have it figured out but want to double check
