Seems to me I recall there being a Hot Rod article about using a rect port intake on oval port heads, said it made more HP or some shit

the bbc i am building is an orig mercruiser, hi perf. out of a 28 footer. took the merc manifold off and it was rectangle. and the heads are oval. i thought i was nuts!

No cracks just a couple brass plugs in the back of the top plenum where they had some sort of injection. My dad bought it off a cj racer and never used it.
