77 Liberty powered by bbf 521
« on: January 24, 2016, 06:14:55 PM »
So I'm not new to jet boats but I sold my old boat last weekend and picked this one up today. Pretty stoked on it and hopefully it'll be a good boat to me. I know liberty's are kinda far and few so if anyone's got more info on them and history or even a story id love to here it.

77 Liberty
Tomm Papp pump
BBF 521

Can't wait to get it in the water and burn some fuel.

Liberty boats aren't the same as the eliminator Liberty boats??...... Or am I mistaking. I've only seen 3 or so Liberty hulls.

I'll deff post some pictures and feed back on how she rides in the water probably next weekend I'll through it in for a bit and see how it goes.

From what I was told its basically due to the fact they were mold corrections, then too heavy, then too light.  The first boat they kept was to be for racing and once they were confident that it was good all the rest were copies.

Everything was good. Only bad got to the cove and thought the boat was gonna sink filling up with water. Well right before the cove I got on it hard and it blew the inlet house off going to the motor off the pump. But got it put back on. Only me and 3 other boats which I was with were in the cove so we made a few passes. Got a few videos nothing crazy. Try'd to upload but wouldn't work.

Dude that have me flashbacks! The first season I had my 496 I blew that inlet line all the time, countless burns and almost sinking my boat later, I went to all AN lines and a regulator. That's good though, means your making some bowl pressure!

Is is okay to have that much pressure going through the block. Yea she gets it from a dig planes out and lays flat real fast.

Right on, no you don't want that much pressure going through the block actually. Can blow gaskets, water in the oil, etc. I ran mine like that and never had a problem but also had a hard time dialing in the temp. Now with a regulator I can dial the gate valves in and run whatever temp I want. Plus a lot safer with the pressure being limited. Some guys run a pressure gauge and stick to strict amounts of pressure, I didn't go that far

K yea there's already a valve it was all the way open I closed it 2 1/2 turns but temps were still barely over 100 deg so next time I'll close it some more and go from there
