I always thought you used your sense of smell to tell if a Ford got hot.

First race on the new engine. Against a hydro flat bottom jet. Dude didn't let me get even with him before we hammered it, but I said f#ck it and took care of business. THEN he started veering to make it look closer. Looking over my shoulder at about 3 boat lengths was fine by me. Try and upload the video soon.

now that its hot out and im running it with full tanks. Best i can muster was 82 this weekend in blythe.

Damn heat causing power loss! Or maybe its the 20+ gallons of fuel on board. Or the 20+ pounds ive gained... hell idk.

Im done trying to go any faster

Nah, I decided over the weekend i am lol. Its a 70mph boat without the bottle and 80 with it. Thats plenty.

It's been faster in better water/cooler weather. But its enough. I really dont know how much more i can get out of that little 323. Especially since it had over 200k when it went in.

Im leaving it alone for the rest of the year. It sips fuel, and runs well enough :-)

I left quite a bit of power on the table but this was a lil bit of a budget build so I need to leave it as is for now. But it runs good so I am in no rush to chase the mighty mph especially with my thin pockets.

Steves86ta, we would probably be a good race. Maybe we will line em up someday. 👍

I did notice my engine running hotter now. The lake was pretty warm along with the hot as shit weather. Need to adjust my gate valve.

Mine actually got warm. For once lol.

About 160 on the water temp then I actually saw about 190 on oil temp after the nitrous passes.

Thanks. Shitty pump and no diverter. So I have my droop wedged up 3 degrees for the top end and I just deal with the shitty launch

I cant slam the throttle out of the hole. Can only do about 75% to plane otherwise I hit my limiter because the pump cant keep up. Wish I had an inducer and all stainless.

I wasnt able to either. When i had an American Turbine B- impeller anything past about 50% would bounce the limiter...

I put a box stock berkeley C cut in expecting it to be worse and i was flat footed in that video from idle. Cant figure out why since the clearances are looser with this impeller too. But it made a big difference. Ask 69Kona how bad mine was with the B-
