A dui dist is a quality dist......I had one in my alcohol dirt modified.......I looked at tha dui website. And the dist is a marine model....I am going to look in to it further......I was wondering I did drive the boat once it never got worm..do I need to check for a thermostat? is that what everybody runs? do you have any pictures of your sbc bahner?
There is a huge debate on whether or not to use a thermostat. It does require a special stat housing and plumbing.
The only way I like to do then is with an automotive style block mounted water pump and an I/O style stat housing. But don't get me wrong, I have used the other style.
There should be a gate valve off the pump that you can throttle down to get the idle temperature up. I like to shoot for about 150°F at idle. They typically do drop while under way.
I will look into the DUI and see what's up with the marine rating.
