1972 CST K5 Blazer
« on: December 16, 2013, 08:31:57 PM »
I did it again...

I have a serious K5 Blazer I took on a bad debt. Clear title in non operation, hugger orange, 8 lug axles fresh 350, headers, Flows, 205 transfer case, Turbo 350, aluminum radiator, Edlebrock carburetor and intake, black crawler rims.

Has fully removable top in pretty good shape, I will be repairing the typical cracks and painting the top white (factory was white)

Solid drive train, needs some cosmetics, some rust, but this is going to be a work in progress, will likely have all the rust repaired very soon (I have done five of these, they all rust in the same spots). Throwing it on here first, simply cannot take less than $4500, I have more than that in it, but something is better than nothing.

I have to replace the heater core and build a fan shroud to make it road worthy.

Factory stuff; 4X4, automatic, PS, PDB, V8... Never been drilled for a roll bar, but I know people...  :sly:

You will get a running 4X4 with fresh interior carpet and factory replica seat covers on the front buckets and rear bench....

Thanks my man..

I had one of these years ago and miss it terribly. As soon as I can get to it in the daylight I will snap a few pictures and get 'em on here...Too dark where it is right now.

The guy I got it from said it ran like crap and had a flat cam.... OR....... The firing order was wrong...  ;D Drove around the block and it barks second gear on the 35's, no metal in the oil filter and idles so smooth you could put a cup of coffee on the oversize K&N air filter.  8)

I couldn't bring it home because of a space issue     :screwy: :screwy:

I have it at a friends shop right now until I play musical vehicles...  :sly:

Yup already did, I make a cold rolled steel backing plate for them and then box the frame from the spring hanger to the end.

This is a common problem, thanks for looking out..!

I was considering this set up....   http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/steeringkit.htm

This one is not cracked at this point, but they all pretty much do eventually. Especially with the big tires/axles.

Taking it outside on Friday for a photo shoot...  8) I ordered some sheet metal parts this afternoon, hoping to have them by next week.

Thought I sold it, but the dude shows up after talking a big game on the phone and when it all settled out, he had $2000. WTF is wrong with people?

He talked me down to $4000 as is and showed up with half. I could have punched all the way through his chest....

For you MOPAR freaks out there, we ended up with a 1974 Ramcharger/Prospector also orange and white, full convertible hard top, a soft top and a seriously healthy 360ci that has less than 5,000 miles on it, my dads machine shop built the motor and it has all good parts, including a Purple shaft cam and upgraded top end.

Prices and pictures to follow soon I promise, the end of the year always kicks my ass.....

I actually will be replacing the front axle u-joints and "Amsoiling" the entire rig, lube will NOT be an issue...  ;)

I actually don't know quite yet, just got the paperwork this afternoon. I have to get a new gas tank for it because it had some pretty serious water in it for a while...

Thinking low to mid $4k's...

GT I also have a 72 blazer I'm putting together, was wondering if u could tell me which side the alt goes on?? Drivers or pass? Mines 4x4 manual trans, manual steering, SBC, short waterpump. If u have a pic of the brackets that'd be great. Thanks. Jake

The short pump is not what came on the small blocks.

They used a long snoot pump and the alternator is supposed to be on the passenger side mounted really high in line with the valve cover.

There is a really good chance I have all the proper brackets. I will check it out on Friday.
