460 Ford Intake Rusted Plate?

Does anyone know what this plate is for on the intake? Is this an EGR block off plate? Regardless I don't think it's supposed to have that hole in it

Oh, My....that is a disaster waiting to happen, vacuum leak, leaned out cylinders, then boom...ya need a new motor.

You need to get an aluminum intake so it doesn't rust.

Its just a choke preheat.
If it doesn't leak vacuum, you'll be alright.

I'm pretty sure it leaks. Better to replace it and be on the safe side. Is this a store-bought items? I did a search but I didn't seem to find many results

You could fab up an aluminum plate to block it off.

Are the bolts rusted in?

I just soaked the bolts but yes they are rusted. I doubt they are going to budge

It's some kind of exhaust port. Mainly used for Automobiles. I had on one mine with the same outcome...rusted bolts. I took the intake to a local welder (removed from the engine) and he welded an aluminum plate right over it.

That diamond-shaped plate is an exhaust crossover block-off plate. You should fabricate a new one and R&R the old one with the new one.
