I'd be a little concerned about the gear on the cam too. If it was mine I'd probably at least make sure to shine a light down there and take a look at the cam gear.

I did as soon as I saw the gear on the dizzy the gear on the came looks OK there is a little mark on it the other than that it looks ok

Do you have a high volume and/or pressure oil pump?  Without proper bearing clearances, that will wear the distributor gear.

You might need to shim your distributor for proper alignment.

I do not know I didn't build it the engine appears fresh but the guys I got it from said it was built right before he got it he said he ran it then it just sat for two yr now I know why it. There a way to tell with out pulling the motor
