but in your previous post u said. "Hot tank after the machining? Hmmm" But, then in this post u said you like to clean it before AND after. Which is it?
Oh, and walgreens was having a sale on finger nail polish, so I bought 1,000 little jars and used those cute little brushes they come with. It only took me three days!!!
Not trying to start a debate, we always did it twice, once in the beginning in the hot tank to get the 30n plus years of goo off, then in the Citrix tank to clean the machining debris, not everybody has the Citrix deal (we had it for doing aluminum stuff...

My bud used some Engine Kote paint on his blown 377 several years ago to paint the valley, after about three months of light use lost oil pressure, we pulled the pan and there were dime sized paint chips in the pick up and the oil filter was blue with debris.
Caught it in time and no damage was done (other than ego) but could have been bad....We redid it with Gliptal and never looked back..
Just trying to help brotha...

Unfortunately, I have built a bunch of engines that were "rebuilt" only weeks before I got them as a job....Seen a lot, but not all....
