BBC heads

   I have a set of heads  14096188 rect port open 116 chamber question is will these work good on a mild built 454 about 550 hp. here's the cam that will be use .567 lift 328 duration.

edit; mis-read sorry...

Any rectangle port heads will work on a mild build, but.....combustion chamber shape and size by itself don't mean anything without the proper piston dome shape. Right heads wrong piston can spell disaster for any build. I always recommend buying pistons to match the head, not the other way around.

The only thing I don't like about rec. ports is the RPM range they like to see (IMHO not worth a damn under 4000 RPM)....

Same as 990's and also should have a better seat design (later head). But I think 118 cc chambers on the 990's?

These are "service replacement" heads and make good heads for high RPM HP.... :thumbup:

If memory serves, they have additional accessory bolt holes in the ends. According to the GM bible.
