this may sound like a stupid question, but couldnt you just route the breather tube back into the intake manifold like they do on a normal car setup or will it kill power?

the idea here is to use the vacuum in the headers to create a negative pressure in the crank case.

I'm may be full of crap here, (would not be the first time ) but why couldn't you fit/braze the check valves into the breathers in the valve covers and use an adapter fitting in the pipe thread on the header tube?

I think it would work the same and look sano.

Good question, and that's what the check valves are for. unless your baffles are extremely under-sized/restrictive it should work out fine because all exhaust collectors have a "pulse" and it has a lot to do with lobe separation (the time in degrees that the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time) the exhaust does not flow in one direction only.

Easy to prove, start your car/truck and get a piece of paper and hold it at the exhaust tip, it will pop back and forth, if you have a bad exhaust valve it will pull in harder than push out, sometimes even tearing the paper in half. Kind of cool if you think about it.

marc, yeah, thats the kit that uses the push on hose. we were looking for one that had AN threads so we could use AN fittings with braided hose. I hate the black hose and hose clamps on mine.....everything is AN with braided lines then i got this ugly hose hangin off my headers.

looks like the checks are below the water line, just curious.

Never had a problem with water inversion. There seems to be enough slope in the exaust that the check valves are just a touch above the waterline.
