Damaged crank
« on: August 10, 2017, 11:44:12 PM »
I was moving my crank in the back of my truck and it nicked a corner of my block and has a large scratch on the journal and is not incredibly deep but it catches your fingernail slightly and I want to know if I need to get it cleaned up again or just screw it and buy a new crank that's not ground at all? Any advice helps !

Bostick to the rescue!!!! If it has never been machined before, I would think you could just have them all machined and polished equally and be fine but, I'm no expert by any means.

Sorry , was in the wrong convo , get it repolished it should be ok , won't harm the bearings , we do this on high pressure pumps all the time and seems to help with lube .
