Well I ran the boat a bit which dropped the oil but still now it reads full at 4.5 qts ??

 In boats its hard to get ALL the oil out. when I do my changes I lift and lower the bow of the boat. Some drain plugs are on the side of the pan and a bit up from the bottom of the pan, leaving the dirtiest oil still in the bottom of the pan. If the drain plug is on the side then jack up the boat trailer on the oppoisite side of the pan a few inches. it willl help get that last few pints out. I also run 2-4 quarts of fresh oil spread out over the valve's,springs and  rockers,  to flush as much old oil out. It works good but cost a few more bucks, worth it to me tho. My dooly 12 qt pan has 2 drain plugs also, both on the side of the pan located on the passenger side, front and rear of the pan. Good luck.
