How come i never see any f/i boats? Especially jet boats? Seems like it would eliminate a lot of problems. Even guys puttin LS based motors in jets are puttin carbs on them.

There was a guy by the name of tjsnordic? I think that's how his name was spelled, any ways he had an efi blown big block in his Nordic bubble and there is a lot of work and fab pieces he made for it to work. But for him being a fab guy it was no problem, for any other person it would of been stupid expensive. As far as mechanical injection it's pricy as well and it's a whole other beast. Carbs are simple and have worked well over the years so why mess with something that works.

Just bought a brand new jet boat and they have to come with fuel injected motors now. Stupid California laws

I run mechanical fuel injection and I love it. Don't know if I will ever go back to carbs in a boat.

Someday I will be stacked (mechanically ). It seem to be a perfect set up for a jet boat. I knew a guy who had a injected BBC in a Chevette for a daily driver and that was years before they even spelled EFI. Couldn't be any simpler for tuning just swapping out pills. I'll see if I can find a photo of it.

Fuel injected BBC Chevy Chevette. That car was my first nitrous ride back in the early 80's. A  guy named Gregg Petersen out of Santa Ana owned and built it. Lic plate said  BBAADD and it was.

my new injection is going to be a crower 3" stack set up. I have it just waiting on me to finish my motor.

Everything is difficult until it becomes easy.  Carbs are simple because they are deemed to be simple.  They are however, forgiving.  The knowledge to tune a carb is not genetically implanted; there is always a learning curve.  How many people truly know how to take advantage of every feature on 3-circuit carb?

I think that if one compares the cost of mechanical injection setup to that of a pair of Dominators, the price will be similar when pumps, regulators, etc. are factored into the equation.

Tuning MI is a different way of thinking from tuning a carb.  No more difficult, just different.  People are reluctant to change.  I think THAT is the greatest challenge.  MI is not for the MPG freaks.  The throttle response is way crisper than with anything else I have heard running.

EFI is where it is all going.  But you not only need to be a tuner, but a fluid-dynamicist, thermal-dynamicist, and a computer programmer to be able to tune your engine.  EFI is not for the faint of heart nor shallow pockets, but you can dial in the exact Air/Fuel Ratio for any engine condition.

As for me, I love my Enderle Birdcatcher MI on a blower motor.  I hope to one day build a NA IR stack injector engine like Beaveretriever's.  MI sets you apart from the masses.  Some day, I hope to play with the EFI stuff, but that probably won’t happen until I win the PowerBall.  Unfortunately, there will still be carbs in my future.  Its all good though.

Is this the same IR manifold that you are planning on running?  Mine is untouched new from Ron’s Fuel Injection.  Some day I will have a vehicle to build around that manifold.

What barrel valve are you planning to run with that?  What are you running now?  Will you roll over the components from your existing configuration?  I love the profiled look of the Kinsler Xtra-Light barrel valves and wanted to try one.  I am not sure about the Enderle IR spools, but the Kinsler spools look very similar to the Hilborn spools in that they are ground to match the demands of the engine configuration.

I don’t have much experience with other-than-Enderle setups except that a friend once had Hilborn hat setup.  It was always lazy and you had to stomp it for it to run really hard.  No disrespect to Hilborn, but that setup was swapped out for a Birdcatcher when our other friend called the Hilborn setup a “Nat-Catcher” and never looked back.  Not sure what the issue with the Nat-Catcher was, but the Enderle setups (both stack and hat) on everything we have run have had RIGHT NOW! throttle response.

Im running a K 54. Its a kinsler style barrel valve. My distribution block is a kinsler. Im running .024 enderle nozzles with a 1" enderle body for the nozzles. I had a bunch of kinsler nozzles but they are all for alcohol so they were way to big for me. The enderle stuff I had will not work except for nozzles and bodies. The distribution block and spool valve are different for the kinslers and enderles. The hillborn ones are similar and will work. Enderle stuff is mostly for blowers I have found. They are od ball compared to the rest of the systems. Basically pete Jackson and endlerle are the same but all the rest use the same parts as a hillborn stack set up.
