Fuel tank cleaning

I have a boat that sat for 2 years and now after new motor installed and ready. Any advice what to add to the tank to clean it up with out removing? Thx

What's in it?  Are they dry? Aluminum?  Steel?

Full?

That would dramatically change the approach.

I used to dump a bunch of nuts and bolts in the tanks with some water and dawn dishsoap and drag it around town for a few days, then someone suggested filling the tank with ice cubes...easier to pump out than nuts and bolts.

just some stabilizer was added but for the most part it's empty

Two gallons of diesel and a nice drive down a shitty road. Pump them out.

Yank the pick up tubes and make sure they're clear. Done.

Double check this one out, with the type of metal you are using. Apple Cider vinegar...

Used it with a rusty tank and it cleaned it right up. Just don't leave it in there for days, wash it out with some old fuel and throw the fuel in the fire when done.

Worked on an old Honda tank that I needed to clean out.
