So after my trip to LSA, i have made the choice to change power plants in the GlenCoe. After some deep thought i am going to go with the 454 chevy. Sunday was the first of many weekends to complete the new task at hand. Over the last month or so i have been picking up parts to make this go as smooth as possible. Sunday morning i woke up to a text message for Flytime, telling me to get my ass in gear and get the boat. He talked with Brad the night before and set up a pick up of the cherry picker. So after i took care of some business and rolled my big ass out of bed i cruised over to Flytimes house to pick him up and away we went. The first stop was to Brads to load the cherry picker then to the storage yard to get the boat. We stuck the boat in Flytimes garage and un-hooked the boat from the truck. i had bought some liquid refeshments (Coronas) took them out of my truck to keep them cool in the fridge, well i dropped the damn box on the ground and lost 3 beers right on the garage floor. after a quick clean up we got down to business. the motor came out with ease after a little motovation from a hammer and a big ass screw driver. im going to post pictures and comments about this little motor swap in the boat. i would like to say thank you to Flytime, for the use of his tools and for the help, also to wannabe for taking that big ass paper weight off my hands, and last but not least Brad for the use of his cherry picker and of coarse creating this site which has allowed me to be in contact with all the help.

finished my headers last night, they turned out ok. i think that this will try and help quite down the new motor. these are a set of 5" supertrapps that came off my old race car.

On behalf of the Beav I will give some updates. The motor is in . Took most of the day Sunday and a little over a case of beer but we got that fuker in. NOTHING fit right . We had to do some major mods to the feet that bolt on to the motor plates among multiple other things. A huge thank to Omar for driving down to the OC help. Without him not only would we still be trying to figure this sh!t out but we would still have beer left over .  And thanks to Brad for loaning us his cherry picker otherwise that motor would have gotten really heavy after a while. Still need to do some plumbing but the hard part is over. Here are a few pics of the day. Enjoy.

What a long ass day that was. Everything was looking good when i picked up the motor from RiverDad, and i would sugest that anyone looking for chevy stuff and complete motors give him a call he is a very cool dude and has an amazing house. Well to start off the day i went and picked up the boat backed it up into Flytimes garage once again and then off to the races, or so i thought. The very first thing i tried to bolt onto the motor was the front motor plate, and low and behold i bought the wrong bolts. So off to the hardware store i go for the first time that day/night. Well after the trip to the hardware store to get the right bolts, i was able to bolt the front motor plate on. After we got the motor plates on ,front and back, i measured the feet and they were way and i mean WAY to wide for my little stringers. So out came the grinder and away we went. we finally got the feet to the right width and after about 5 hours of putting the motor in and pulling it out and measuring and re measuring we finally got the motor bolted in. My drive line that i wanted to use wouldnt fit, it was an olds, so we set the motor up to run a shaft that BeerJet had and will let me use or have until i get one that will fit. I would like to extend my greatest thanks to Flytime,Brad,Omar and my little brother who was a great help. He is a great fabricater for his company Diesel exhaust and emissions in Santa Fe Springs and he played a major roll in the install. BeerJet did a great job doing nothing but drinking the beer, J/K. his expertise(sp) was awesome. I just cant say enough about how cool everyone has been that i have met off this site and there willingness to help a fellow jet boat lover. Thanks again guys.
