so i am getting ready to set the motor back in the boat and remember that i broke a bolt off in the balancer when i was taking things apart, need to fix that before putting in boat, no problem right? drill bit and easy out and we are home free, f*** that, 4 drill bits and 2 eazy outs later the bolt is still in there and winning this battle, so i cannot get a puller on it,  i tried to use a jaw type puller and grab from the outside--yea right that worked like a charm, so severl hours and cuss words later still no progress, get some sleep and approach it with a fresh head, garage full of tools, this pos is not beating me, grab the sawzall, propane torch, drill, die grinder with cut off wheel and the jaw type pulley puller , this sob is coming off, after several hours of working with it and cussing, the wife and step father coming out wondering what all the noise is about, this is what i ended up with ,   i fucking win!!!

Put it on Ebay probably get a season or 2 out of it still:

Gonna have to agree with Marc. And I'm not so sure re-using that balancer is a good idea..... They're called balancers for a reason, material missing from them kinda defeats the purpose. I just beat the hell out of the one I had on a 350 because it had a bolt broken off. Just kept heating it up and beating on it til it came off.

Still, different materials are different weights... I guess you could figure out how to rebalance it, where you need to add weight and stuff... But it's just not worth it.

you don't think i was serious about fixin this pos do you ,. can you imagine the way it would look if i could even figure out how to get it balanced again

that's cool, i hope i am not considered one of those types (although i do ride the short bus from time to time), unfortunatly that is why it is taking so long to finish the boat, start making progress, find something wrong, wait for money to fix it.
