Just curious what the water pressure is at WOT.
Also, have you pulled the Intake Mani yet?

Have not pulled the manifold

The motor has not been modified since the beginning of the season

Haven't drained it yet to know exactly but the level on the dipstick is about 3/8" past the full mark.

I'll pull the plugs tomorrow to find out

When I had a boat with exhaust logs years ago I got the milkshake through the logs.

What happened was the flappers on the exhaust were gone, I came in a little hot to shore when I shut the engine off and the rush of water from behind was enough to splash up into the exhaust hose far enough to reach the open exhaust valves. When I went to start the engine it was a little slow, heard the hesitation which was the water in the cylinders, doesn't compress, but will work through the rings into the pan.

Did you have the back of your boat positioned where the waves splashed into the back of your boat for any period of time?

Just tossing possibilities out there, this one was an easy fix.

Your problem is the risers. The engine is too low for that type and not be at a front high angle (they are for a direct drive inboard).

Damn, I was afraid that's what it might be. Well, either that or the cam (comp xm270). My next question would be is there a different riser for those manifolds or am I looking at a whole new exhaust system. Thanks.

They did makea set of risers for those. I will need to do a little research to see what they had.

The cam (imo) only aggravated the problem.
