Well guys, the "donor car" arrived on the tow truck tonight.

It started right up and idled nice, no funny noises. It had a slight miss when revving it but at any constant rpm its smooth. Too bad the transmition is bad, would have been nice to let it have a nice big final smokey burnout before stripping it. I started pulling the useless stuff off the motor and found a few possible causes for the miss, lots of rotting old vacuum fittings, a cracked/broken connector on one of the coil packs, and the plastic intake tube the connects the mass air meter to the throttle body wasnt on right (bad rubber gasket that was half way out of place). Its a wonder the damn thing ran as good as it did.
Dirty and unloved, sad, because I always liked these cars. Bad trans, bad air ride, bad paint. Previous owner is a coworker, I helped him change the trans (he bought a used one) a few months ago, it lasted one week. I guess that was the last straw for him, he sold it to me for less than he paid for the used trans.

The mighty (

) 4 cam 4.6 Dammmnnn these things are HUGE !!! Should have it out and on a stand Sunday afternoon. Billy (ironman) is coming over to help, and I'm sure he'll tell me I'm crazy, again.

Very strange cooling system routing, cant even see where the lower radiator hose is going to yet (looks to be going somewhere down low on the drivers side of the engine,

). This is definitely going to take some creative thinking.
