Look at all your gauges. I had the same problem and come to find out one of my gauges dropped a power lead. My gauges were hop scotched.

Try triggering the distributor manually.  It is possible the reluctor failed.  If the trigger circuit doesn't open, energy built up in the coil won't discharge to the plugs.

If still no spark, try temporarily wiring the ignition directly to the battery (bypassing the key switch) and repeat the test.

For the reasons mentioned above, I would run a separate isolated circuit, on a relay, for the ignition.  The key should only energize the relay and I prefer switched to ground.

Good luck,

Joe

Does the rotor turn when the engine is cranked? Could be a broken roll pin.

You should be able to troubleshoot this in less than thirty seconds with a 12v rest light.

Put the test light ground clip on a known good ground. Test in on the battery post.

Put the test probe on the (+) on the distributor with the key on.  Light?  Move on to the next no light?,  find out why, fuse,  bad switch etc.

If it lights,  put the probe on the (-) side of the coil,  key on,  light? Bump the starter, light go out? If yes, move on.

Crank the engine, it should flash while cranking.  No flash,   bad ground or pick up coil,  flash, could be a bad coil wire.
