Now im getting a flat spot
« on: June 04, 2020, 05:18:47 PM »
I took the carb apart a bit and cleaned it out before putting everything back together. And im not seeing any fuel squirt like before when it was off. Im also getting a flat spot when i get it for a sec. If i accelerate slowly its fine. It also wont start unless i dribble a little fuel in it

you have done something to the accelerator pump assembly. your going to have to pull it off and play with it again.

yep, acc. pump.

you probably have the pump lever flipped when you put the front bowl back on, can you get a pic of the side of the carb?

Being that im new to the big block world. I did some research before digging in any deeper than the bowl on the holley. I learned about the metering block and found the blockage between the MB and the throttle body. Quick easy start and will be doing some fine tuning once i get the water neck back from tig welding. I think this will be the best the boat will run since i got it. Im pretty excited.

Sorry i didnt get back to you its been a wild week of busy but i did figure it out today. There was a blockage in the carb between the metering block and the throttle body. Now i need a new fuel rail since i dont know where the rust is coming from
