Quick fuel 850 problem

Just got my quick fuel marine 850 in the mail. Beautiful carburetor but a slight problem.
The linkage for the choke is hanging up on the side of the spark arrester. (Pictured)Has anyone else had this problem?
Solutions??

What flame arrestor?

Personally I would eliminate the choke, but that's me.

I was thinking about removing it but if I did then my OCD will kick in and I will pull the wire bundle apart to remove the wires for it and I'm too lazy.
This is the arrestor.

I've got a 800 with choke and a hardin arrestor I believe and it works fine. Mine looks like it might be bigger diameter then yours though.

Holley makes a couple of different flame arrestors. Just going by the picture you posted, it seems to be a 6" wide one. From what I read, the 6" are only rated  for 600 CFMS. Holley makes a 8" wide arrestor rated for 800 CFMS. With the 8" wide arrestor you will be closer to your CFMS of the carburetor and it will give you more room for the choke linkage.

The current flame arrestor fits into a small scoop built into the engine cover. I think the bigger diameter will be an issue.
I'll just try some things when I get everything put back together.
I'll probably just remove choke all together since it seems to be the cool thing to do.
