I'm hoping GT or someone can point me in the right direction here. I have a 1995 202xr with the standard MP 454/Dominator Jet. My issue is that when I decelerate, the idle will stick at 2000 rpms or higher (seems to happen more often in extremely hot weather). If I tap on the accelerator pedal a couple of times it will drop back down to 900-1000 rpms. Obviously I checked (and lubricated) the foot pedal, cable, and linkage...no issues there. Last weekend while at Parker I even went to Napa and added a return spring to no avail. I've come to the conclusion that I should probably replace the original quadrajet with an Edelbrock 1409 or 1410. Any suggestions/ideas?
If i get some free time tonight at work, ill play with it and post it for everyone to see.
Time to man up and yank it John! Ray
I can pull the carb and drop it off for the rebuild GT if that is the diagnosis.
