Ticking from rocker arm
« on: April 28, 2016, 07:15:09 PM »
So i cant get rid of a "ticking" coming from cylinder 1 exhuast rocker arm. I know the roller rockers tick but for some reason this one seem to be the loudest.  My buddy and i have pulled the valve cover while its running to make sure its getting oil out of its peep hole which it is...checked to make sure it was  Adjusted it to zero lash and still ticks loud. Its a 468 bbc  any thoughts?

Thats what i did my engine builder told me it should be 5/8 turn . Maybe im just super paranoid from not really ever hearing a roller motor up close. I know its the last valve/rocker to receive oil from pump?

With the engine off, back the rocker off and press the pushrod into the lifter ands see if it feels springy.

Have you checked the obvious?
Is the pushrod wearing on the guidplate? Is the rocker stud straight? Hope is the contact on the valve stem? Is the rocker arm contacting the rotator?

Who's rocker arms?  Got a picture?

Can you tell if it's clicking on the "up" stroke or down?
