It was on for about 10 mins idling out the dock drove it easy for bout 3 mins then just complete bogging... I had to sputter it to the ramp cause no one seems to notice I'm going the wrong way sputtering and wants to help.. but anyways I had to literally tap the gas before it cut just to get back... I turn it off to get my phone to video the symptoms and it starts just fine like nothings wrong. I'm stumped, now I think it's a fuel issue?

Does it have a water separator? I had a boat with similar symptoms and it had a ton of water in the gas. Dump the separator into a clear Mason jar or something similar and see if you have any water in there.

I'm gonna pull the water separater today see what's going on... I was also told my gas cap could be my issue. I noticed gas coming out when it's hot parked like it evaporated out... messed up my paint apparently there not sealed?  Comments on that?

Not sealed goes both ways chance of getting water in the fuel also.

I'm understanding fuel system is a pressured vacuum is that correct air bubbles could cause bogging?

The only time i have seen fuel caps cause a problem is when they are not vented.  Water maybe your problem i would start with checking your fuel for water.  Then i would check to see if you are getting fuel in your bowls properly.  Setting still the water well be pretty stable at the bottom of the bowls. moving will get it moving as well.

Boat sits more bow up in the water than on the trailer. Tanks have water in them and the pick ups are at the back of the tanks.

Grab three or four bottles of Siloo and dump them in, change the separator,  bring an extra and go run the snot out of it.

Jack the front up a little so the boat is seating close to how it does in the water let it seat that way for a while if you have an electric fuel pump take the gas line off the carb and pump some gas into a clear container let it set a few minutes if there's water you will see it like a bubble at the bottom if you don't have an electric fuel pump you can by a small one and hook it up where it goes to your Mechanical pump even a little bit of water will make it run bad and when it's not under a lode it will seem fine also a weak coil will also seem fine when not under a load good luck jess

. Check needle and seat. Do you have a fuel pressure gage?  I still think it is a fuel problem

Glad to hear you got your boat running good again, when I bought my boat three years ago, it came with a Petronix billet dist and the Flame Thrower coil, I figured I’d keep it even after I built a new BBC engine, I heard pretty good things about them, but after it shit on me twice, and even after I took it to Petronix in Glendora and they tested it and said it’s fine. I installed an MSD Marine system with their Pro Billet dist and never looked back. I have had it for three years now and everything has worked flawlessly. I should of invested in the MSD system right away, I’ve run their products for over 25 years and never had an issue with my Chevelle or in my 7 sec alcohol dragster. Just fuel for thought if the Petronix gives you a problem in the future again.
