Jeff,
Who cares if your boat is done or not. Just come up and hang out. There will be plenty of other boats around to play with. See you in a couple weeks ;).

X2, More than welcome to take our boat out, tow a tube, just get away from the crowd....
You should come out anyway....

Hope to see you there! 8)

Jeff--say it isn't so. Don't worry about the boat--I've got plenty of room. Hey, I've even got an extra boat you could tow over if you want. You know you want to come--Give me a call.

  ;D ;D Thanks guys,
Its not a matter of parts, I have 99.9% of what I need, now its just time.  I was out looking at it last night and I know I could have it on the water in time, but it wouldn't be something I would be proud to own ( not going to happen !!! ) .  I still need to finish the rest of the mock-up/fab work than strip the whole boat down to nothing again to do the final finish on the floors ( I didn't do it before because I didn't want to be walking around on metal shavings on the fresh shinny floor) And than reassemble it ( all polished and pretty  ;D ).
I will probably just shoot over for the day, it wont take long to get there on the bike as long as I stay away from the man

Some quick info from the website:

Lake San Antonio - North Shore
Camping

Lake San Antonio, North Shore, offers hundreds of first come, first serve hook-ups and non hook-ups on a 24 hour basis. Come in anytime but if you are leaving that day then you need to vacate your site at 2:00 p.m.

Shoreline camping with 18 full hook-ups and 73 electrical and water sites is available at North Shore. Sites are recommended for self-contained units.

Guide to Camping the Pleyto Points

Boating and Swimming
• You can launch and retrieve your boats at the launch ramps and keep them moored at your shoreline campsite during your stay at the park
• Coves and an area 100 yards off the shoreline are zoned 5 mph; this is strictly enforced for boaters
• Shoreline launching and recovery of watercraft is strictly prohibited
• Swimming in the coves and on the points is allowed within the 5 mile per hour zones; swim at your own risk
• We do not provide lifeguard services
• Swimmers are not permitted in the main body of water with open boating
• For your safety, the “buddy system” should always be used and parents should watch their children

Vehicles
• Please camp one vehicle deep on either side of the access road
• Keep exit routes for cars and RVs clear so they may easily vacate the campsite in the case of an emergency
• Park Rangers will request vehicles to be moved to decongest such areas
• Keep 20 feet or more between you and the next vehicle

Campfires

• Campfires are permitted in metal containers only with a cleared 10 foot diameter area around the fire
• You can use braziers and BBQs for this purpose
• Please do not put trash in fire pits or barbeques

Toilets and Dumpsters
• Chemical toilets are provided throughout the points for your convenience
• Please do not throw cans, bottles, disposable diapers or any type of trash into chemical toilets; they damage our pumping equipment and delay cleaning
• Dump stations are located at McCandless Springs, “A” Loop and “B” and “C” loops
• Trash dumpsters are located in the high use areas on the points
• Please do not leave bags of trash on the shoreline; deposit in dumpsters

Drinking Water, Security, Quite Hours, Firearms
• Drinking water is available in most locations throughout the park
• Please lock up all your valuables and equipment securely at night
• Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a 7 foot leash
• Quite hours are 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; no radios, stereos, generators or loud noise
• Firearms, fireworks or anything that launches a projectile is prohibited

Lake San Antonio - North Shore
Boating, Fishing and Launch Areas

Boating Guidelines
Please familiarize yourself with the following local boating procedures:
• There is a traffic pattern on San Antonio Lake.
• Always keep to the right of the center-line buoys in a counter clockwise direction.
Night boating permits are required when operating a boat during the hours of darkness. These permits may be obtained from the entry station, marina, park maintenance yard, or any ranger.
• Overnight camping or fires of any type are not allowed on the lake shoreline
• 5 MPH speed zones have been established to provide for several special use areas. Water skiers must start drop outside these areas.
• A bright red flag must be displayed from the boat when a skier is in the water.
• It is no longer legal to ride in a boat while it is being towed behind a vehicle.
• All children, 11 years of age or younger, must wear a life jacket when in a boat.
• All vessels must have an annual boat permit or day use receipt for every day on the water.

I don't recall the exact amount to camp but I want to say it's somewhere near $20 per night, boat is like $6 per day,
and as far as I can tell, there is no speed limit on the lake!

Holiday weekend fee's are $32.00 a day and $8.00 to launch.  :screwy: There is NO speed limit ;D, not like I have to worry about that my boat :'(. When I was there last they had done away with night permits. All you had to have was the red/green on the front and white in the back. BEWARE...most of the center line bouy light dont work and it gets VERY dark if there is no moon.

Tom-
While I understand and see the humor in your post, this is a very serious matter.  Things got very ugly this past weekend, Christi almost ended up in the psych ward @ county hospital.  I'm not going to go into details, when I posted that I was asking you guys (as friends of mine) to be aware of the situation.
Thanks, see you in 7 days suckers!  ;D

I am always glad to hear people getting help when the situation calls for it, on a positive note for all involved or going through what seems like the impossible, there is always hope and its not always in vein, on the 28 of this month I will have 5,745 days sober (my 13 year "sober" birthday), Of course I didnt stop on my own The state of Ca. was kind enough to give me free room and board for a little over two years to work on my program  ::), but all is good now and I am more than happy to help out if you need some "tech support"  ;D

And as far as the boat/trip goes, I am litterally working around the clock to wheel and deal my boat motor swap and have it there for the weekend. If all else fails I have a couple buddies that might let me use their boats, I am really looking forward to the weekend and am really bummed the olds didn't hold out a little longer, I loved looking at the chevy guys as I would fly by and this would have been the PERFECT trip to do it. Oh well now all I have to do is spend every extra penny for the next year and I'll have the chevy looking and running like the "other motor", thats right I'm a chevy guy now.
Ok now back to work.

What else do you need to make this happen? Jim Brock has TONS of shit in his shop, I'm positive he has the mounts, and PTO/Drivelines etc

Sorry we're not going to make this one. We're going back out to the river. Glassy water all day long there!
Hope all you guys have a great weakend. I've always loved that lake. Boat always seemed a little bit faster there for some reason.
If you see a blown blue Eliminator Spint watch out. He likes to run you in front of his camp. So they can watch him saw people off. Didn't happen when he ran me though...sucker!
