Need Opinions on 2013 Oct SCJB Trip

Gotcha Mark, Guess we'll save the racing for later. What do you and Teresa think about the River Palms and Big Bend ? It's the last hotel on the strip nearest to the launch and the price was pretty good, at least through Travelocity. It would be nice to get everything figured out early, so we can get our rooms reserved ! I think it would be better if the whole crew stayed at the same place. What's your .02 cents. Glad to hear the motor is going back together !!!

I'm looking into a few different hotels in Laughlin for group rates. I'll have something in set in stone next week so hold out on making reservations any where for now.

If its in Laughlin were staying in Laughlin with the group we love staying in Laughlin. We like Aquarius but we don't really care, we are gonna stay where the whole group is staying on this trip. Can't wait it's gonna be a blast...

I agree with Danny, the River Palms boat parking is real easy, not as convenient as the AVI, nevertheless, we have been there twice and I feel good about the security. The Palms is maybe 4 miles to Big Bend State Park and launching is no drama. I don't know what the boat parking conditions are at the Pioneer.

I've already ruled out the river palms for many reasons including the long ass walk to the boat parking and the place is a ghost town. They removed the bar and casino from the bottom floor.

The pioneer is convenient because you walk out your hotel room door and you can see your boat. Also its mid strip so a walk to losers lounge is do-able. Yes the pioneer isn't nice but its comparable to big river inn. I am looking into other hotels as well but pioneer looks to be the best fit for our needs.

Only problem with river palms is it is DEAD at night. Gotta somewhere else to have fun, boat parking is nice but not sure if they will let us party up there. Pioneer was cheap, and in the middle if things, didn't have any trouble parking our boat there. Brad may even get a new set of panties this time! C'mon brad!

What about the Belle? that is where I always stay. There is tons of parking a decent casino and the brewery has pretty good food.

Do you usually have to have a minimum number of reservations to make sure the group gets a discounted rate?

Tropicana express is really cool ..and nice but also a little walk to parking lot , too bad Catherine's landing is always windy cause they have a lil hotel room almost same as bigriverinn inn.. But again it's a lake,,,

I checked out the Pioneer on line and the few pics I saw it appears they have RV parking so I can live with that. The pics of the rooms look decent enough. I still feel more comfortable about launching at Big Bend State Park. Big Bend is more central to the Back Bay, Lazy Harrys and a run down to the AVI for those who have the fuel capacity.

I'm OK with the Pioneer. Thanks for your efforts Brad.
