i should be able to make more events this year. been busy lately. but things are slowing down. I for sure will make the Avi ones since my place is right down the river

Looks like I may have to do a Big River or Avi trip this year. Sweet!

What is the low-down on this Temple Bar deal that Marcsrollin has told me about that you guys used to do? Sounds like it was a bitchen good time! Not in the schedule anymore? Logistics not working out? Just curious because I'd say I'd seriously be down to do something like that from what I have been told about it.

It just didnt work out. We ran into issue were it was too far for too many people. Also, the place was a ghost town when we went (late march) and we had to beg them to just open the bar. We were a bit too roudy for them and got a lot of attitude from the staff.

The last 3 years we've move this event to the bluewater and its worked out perfectly for everyone. It's early enough in the season where we pretty much have the river to ourselves. I am nervous about this year because I was forced to move it to the 2nd weekend of April. Parker turns into a joke the warmer it gets.

nope, no reason either. I try to space them out every other month, but sometimes they just fall where/when they do.

I'm always at the Avi for the 4th, my aunt and uncle bring the pontoon (mothership) out. Hit a beach early and claim it all day. BBQ and hang out. Everyone's invited! Lol

I'm planning on being out in Parker on the weekend of the Big River event in June, I would like to bring my boat down and join in on Saturday the 14th. Although I'm not too familiar with that area south of Parker and I would like to know where I could launch the boat thats somewhat close to the gathering and feel good about leaving the truck and trailer. What's the nornal thing that many peep's do for these socaljetboat events? Any info and or suggestions would be great, thanks.

Yes, everyone launches from Big River Park. Do a search in google maps for "Old Parker Rd, Big River, CA"

Big river park is on the corner of del rey and rio mesa sometimes you have to look it up under earp ca. From rice rd turn on rio mesa and it will dead end at the park or from parker take rio Vista to rio mesa then left till the end

Hey Tad, not trying to step on Brads toes by answering but I know he's a busy guy. Most everyone stays at Big River Inn just outside Parker. We launch and park the vehicles at Big River Park which is right next to the motel. Never had anything happen to the truck there and I believe it's like $18.00 a day including launch fee and parking. We generally walk to Catfish Cantina and Dumas Walkers for dinner and the evenings festivities !!!!!

Usually the whole motel is taken over by the SCJB crew. I'm sure Brad will post up the details soon. It's a good time to say the least !
